PATH OF THE SACRED RIVER
From the Traditional collection
“Path of the Sacred River” embodies the perpetual journey of life, where water, the element of transformation, dances alongside fire, earth, and air in perfect balance. This piece, an homage to Zapotec heritage, carries within it the whispers of the ancestors, who saw in the rivers the veins of the earth, pulsing with divine energy.
The pristine white that graces its surface symbolizes purity, the origin of all things, the mist that rises at dawn over the sacred valleys of Mitla. It is the blank canvas of creation, the breath of the wind as it carries the wisdom of the past into the present.
The golden details shimmer like the sun upon the flowing water, a tribute to the divine light that illuminates the path of those who walk in harmony with nature. Gold, the color of fire and spiritual enlightenment, represents the warmth of the sun’s embrace, the sacred glow that transforms and purifies.

Tradition / Meaning / Presence
Cultural symbolism
In the Zapotec tradition described by Cabokero, a naturally found cow skull carries profound meaning. Placed in a home, it is believed to act as a guardian, symbolizing protection and harmony for the household and its inhabitants. Found after the animal’s natural death, these skulls are revered as sacred objects associated with balance and tranquility in the home.
